Not all floors are created equal—in fact, different surfaces require different cleaning techniques to get best results. Here are a few tips on the most effective ways to clean common types of flooring.

Wood
1. Sweep Before You Mop.

Clearing the way of any excess dust and hair will make for smooth sailing (or mopping, in this case). Swiffer Sweep+Vac is a great option to use prior to wet cleaning.

2. Go With The Grain.

Then use Swiffer WetJet to break up and dissolve any remaining tough messes.  Using just the right amount of solution, it gives your floors a powerful clean while making sure it doesn’t damage them. Be sure to mop with the grain—it’s one more way to ensure the longevity of your hardwood floors.

Laminate
1. Damaging Floors is a Drag.

Lift heavy furniture instead of dragging or pulling it to avoid scratching and abrasions.

2. Just Scratching the Surface.

Steel wool, scouring powders, and other abrasives can scratch your laminate floors. WetJet’s absorb and lock technology and Sweeper wet cloth’s built-in solution both ensure a great clean without damaging your floors.

Tile
1. Don’t Wait Up!

Clean up spills as quickly as possible so your grout won’t stain.

2. Cracking Under Pressure.

Take the proper precautions when moving heavy objects across a ceramic tile floor, to prevent cracking.Take the proper precautions when moving heavy objects across a ceramic tile floor, to prevent cracking.

3. Just Scratching the Surface.

Don’t use steel wool, scouring powders, or other abrasives that can scratch the finish of your ceramic tile. Opt for WetJet’s absorb and lock technology and Sweeper wet cloths’ built-in solution. Both ensure a great clean while keeping your floors safe.
