When I first purchased this product I consistently got 9 minutes of vac time each time however, it took almost 24 hours of charging time to get 9 minutes of cleaning time. It now lasts 2-3 minutes. I gave it one star because it actually works well when it's charged. Don't waste your money.

We appreciate your input, and will be sure to share this with our team! We always want you to get the best results possible, so we do recommend only plugging in the vac long enough to charge, and avoid leaving it plugged in longer than necessary, to preserve the battery life! We hope this helps, and hope you'll give us a call at: (800) 395-5594 to share more info, so we can help you further!
I've had two Swiffer vacs, but it seems like quality is going downhill. The first one I had lasted for 6+ years, and battery finally wore out. It's lightweight and portable, so it works great for cat hair and dust bunnies on solid floors all over the house. This one lasted less than 2 years. I thought the loop on the handle was for hanging, but the handle broke after about 6 months, so it now sits on the floor. The battery only holds a charge for about 2 minutes now. I'm glad to read the discussions here. Now I know IF I buy a replacement, I'll need to plug it in and unplug it frequently. I'm going to consider other options.
Quality is super important to us, so we're disappointed to hear this! Our products go through lots of quality checks to make sure they'll reach you in perfect condition, so we certainly wouldn't expect this. For best results, we do recommend only leaving the vac plugged in until it's done charging, and unplugging it as soon as you can, to preserve the battery life! However, we certainly wouldn't expect you to have issues with the handle, so we'd like to look into this further to see how we can help. Just give us a call at: (800) 395-5594 when you get a chance!
I have had 2 swiffer sweep + vacs. The batteries die out. They will tell you that you need to go back and unplug it after it has charged for 8 hours (every time you use it)- that is very inconvenient. I think they need to design it so you can simply replace the battery. It is an amazing product with a flaw in design. I wish they would fix it as I need to move on to swiffer #3 now. Also, I have contacted them to ask for a coupon to minimize the replacement cost ($5? or something?), but they offered nothing. This seems like very poor customer service to me considering I have purchased 2 units and many pads/filters to go with those units.
MomOfTwo, we completely understand your frustrations, and we're sorry you're having this experience. The battery inside the Swiffer Sweep + Vac is designed to be charged for 4 to 8 hours. When it's done charging the light will change from red to green. We recommend unplugging the vacuum when fully charged to avoid overcharging. To get the maximum run time, always run the vac until it now longer picks up dirt before you recharge it. If you only use the device for a few minutes before recharging it, the run time gradually reduces. We'd love to see how we can make this right for you. Please give us a call at (800) 395-5594.
Quality is really important to us, and our team has done lots of testing to make sure our Sweep + Vac will last, so we're disappointed to hear you've experienced this! We appreciate your feedback about the battery design, and we'll be sure to let our team know you'd like the battery to be designed to be able to stay plugged in for longer than just the charge time. We're always here to help, and we'd like to look into this further! When you get a chance, just give us a call at: (800) 395-5594 - The Swiffer Team
I love this product!! It’s great for cleaning the dust and hair and other light detritus from my pine flooring. My floors are so much cleaner than when I use(d) swiffers only, without the vac. The only problem is that the charge only lasts a max of 10-13 minutes and then takes hours to recharge. I leave it on the charger (because if I don’t there’s no charge at all when I go to use it). I think this is the normal run time which I didn’t realize before my purchase. It’s almost a deal breaker as I can only get part of my floors done in one go. I don’t have pets and there’s just two of us living in the house. P & G got it ALMOST right with this product. So close.
Hi Kbooboo, we want you to have a blast cleaning up around the house, and we hate to disappoint a Swiffer Fan. The battery for the Swiffer Sweep + Vac will last about 12 to 14 minutes on each charge. It will then take about 4 to 8 hours to recharge. We'll make sure to let our teams know you'd like to see a longer charge time, so you can get more cleaning done! We would like to mention that you shouldn't leave the device on the charger for longer than necessary to get a full charge. That can cause it to overcharge, and further reduce the run time. Give us a call if you have any questions or if we can help you further at (800) 395-5594. We love helping our Swiffer Fans.
I bought this for my mom to use, it’s okay. It’s really just suctions up dust and hair, if it’s dirt type, it won’t pick it up. I really hate that I can’t find the filters anywhere, in any store....why is this????
Bella911, we're very sorry you're having this experience, and we completely understand your frustrations. If you aren't getting much suction from your SweeperVac try these remedies. If your SweeperVac makes a weak sound while it is running, it may be time to recharge it.If your SweeperVac makes a loud noise while it is running, do the following.* Make sure the suction nozzle is pushed all the way down.* Make sure the dirt cup is in place, isn't cracked or broken and isn’t full.* Check that the filter is in the correct position. (Its shape matches the dirt cup exactly.)* Make sure the filter is clean. Wipe it with a dry paper towel or Swiffer cloth if it isn’t.* Check for clogs in the hose. (Remove the dirt cup and drop a small coin where the cup goes. Tilt the head slightly. If the coin doesn't drop through the sweeper, the hose is blocked. If the hose is blocked, use a blunt utensil, such as a spoon, to push the blockage through the hose from above.) If you can't find the filters for your SweeperVac, make sure to ask the manager of your favorite store to order and stock them for you. If you have questions or if we can help you further, please give us a call at (800) 395-5594.
I’m a crafter and work with glitter almost daily. I love my swiffer vac because after I’m finished for the day, I can cleanup all the glitter that landed on the floor and even on top of my work table! What the vac doesn’t pick up, the cloth does. It’s a win-win for me! I’m also gifting one to my son, as it will be perfect for his little studio apartment.
